For the cooling of just spun fibers in the fiber industry, GKD media are in use to guarantee a good laminarisation of the air stream.
Woven, GKD-plain dutch weaves and PZ Microdur weaves are in use in Cross-Flow quenching systems, and GEKUPLATE Air Quench tubes are used in radial quenching applications.
GEKUPLATE Air Quench tubes are mainly used as stable cylindrical elements, which are also cleanable in case of dirt contamination.
